Do You Need to Read the Bible to Become a Christian?
No. The Bible is not needed -- although it is very helpful. There are many places in the world where the Bible is not available. Yet when people hear about Jesus Christ and what he has done for us, they immediately accept Jesus as their Lord and savior -- becoming Christians.
Neither the Bible, nor baptism, nor communion is required for someone to become a Christian. Remember the criminals who were crucified on either side of Jesus. One mocked Jesus. But the other recognized Jesus for who he was, and was saved as he hung on the cross.
