Christianity - Actions, Lifestyle
Christianity is a religionof action. Throughout the New Testament Christians are called to GO and be active in obeying God's word. In Matthew 28:19 it says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations..." In the original Greek language the word we translate as "go" also has the meaning of "going". In other words, we are not to go sometime in the future, we are to be GOING NOW and making disciples.
Also, notice that Matthew 28:19 does not say that evangelists or pastors should be the ones who go and make disciples. We are all to be GOING NOW and making disciples.
Does this mean all Christans are called to be missionaries in far away places. No. Some Christians are called to be missionaries, most are not. What Matthew 28:19 means that we should not be hiding our Christianity. For example, what all Christians should be doing is living a Christ-like lifestyle through which others can see Christ.
Do people see Christ when they see you? Or do people see Satan?
Do you support God's values and morals with your words and actions, or are you supporting Satan? Do you know how to tell the difference between what God wants and what Satan wants?
Are you reading God's word daily so that you can learn how God wants Christians to live?
Do you spend time in prayer?
Are you growing in Christ so that your life -- your words, actions and thoughts -- become more like Christ as you grow older.
How do you spend your free time? What do you spend your money on? What we spent our time and money on is what we truly worship. Do you worship God?
