Do You Believe What The Bible Says?
Genesis chapters 1-11 have all of the important doctrines of Christianity. But, do you believe what the Bible says?
The Bible says God created the world in six days. The Hebrew word used is "Yom", which everywhere else in the Bible (in similar language contexts) means one 24 hour day. But we insist, based on our human wisdom, that it had to have taken millions of years. Is God not powerful enough to have created the world in six days? Could He not have created everything in six minutes or six seconds or in no time at all? YES! But God choose to create the world in six days.
What do we know about human wisdom?
Number one on the list is that we know human wisdom is fallible. Time and time again we've gotten things wrong. What's interesting is that there are over 100 methods that can be used to determine the age of the universe, but we only hear about the 10% that supposedly give the age as billions of years--and it's questionable as to whether those 10% are actually valid.
