What pleases God?

This question was first broughth to my attention on New Years day, and it has been stuck in my head ever since. This may be the most important question we can ask ourselves.

Evangelical Christians tend to really focus on salvation, spreading the answer to the question, how are we saved? We read in the Bible how the angels celebrate and rejoice each time a person is saved. Is this what pleases God? As I read the Bible I'd have to say the answer is yes, but it's not the number one thing.

There are many things that please God, but one thing stands out above all the rest. I seems I can't read more than two or three pages in the Bible and this subject comes up.
